Oliver Peoples 2009 Spring/Summer Collection

Luxury eyewear makers Oliver Peoples linked up with at the time newly appointed creative director for Dior Homme, Kris Van Assche. The collaborative effort featured Van Assche’s penchant for masculine cues in a plastic interchangeable frame. Slight details can be seen throughout the frames including a custom case and a KVA logo. The eyewear was seen worn by Usher at the Barack Obama Inauguration.

Mykita Create 3 New Sunglasses

Mykita, the ‘fashion’ sunglasses has collaborated with designer Bernhard Willhelm to create three new sunglasses inspired by the world of skiing.

Dubbed as “a collaboration based on creativity multiplied by 2”, the new sunglasses combine Mykita’s engineering prowess with Bernhard Willhelm’s uber creativity.

Constructed by solar aviator sheet metal and glass mirrors, the new sunglasses called FRANZ, SEPP and LUKE are offered in blue, white and gold.

The hand-finished blue lacquered models have blue mirror lenses while the white frames sport red glass mirrors. The flagship gold model is a sparkling gold nugget.

These limited edition sunglasses – FRANZ, SEPP and LUKE have been handcrafted in Mykita’s factory in Berlin.

Super hot German eye and sunglass line MYKITA has been busy during fashion week. Berlin Fashion Week for all of us in the throws of New York Fashion Week. They’ve teamed up with two super hot German designers Bernard Wilhelm and c.neeon to show new styles from their collection. First up, Bernard Wilhelm’s Fall/Winter 2009 collection: Skiing is an ancient sport and method of transportation, and it was specifically the slalom wizardry, downhill heroics and fearless jumpers seen at the 1976 Winter Olympics in Innsbruck that provided the inspiration for the collection. To accompany his skimpy ski outfits, Willhelm joined forces with MYKITA to present three mirrored aviator-style metal frames.
