ContactsandSpecs.com – Presents – Martin&Martin Eyewear.

The Martin & Martin Story:

Martin & Martin was founded by Martin Lehmann and Martin Stempel in 1997. Martin & Martin school age friends decided to go into the world of eyewear together. They started networking in Germany. They developed a completely new frame design in cooperation with an African-German artist – this was the beginning of the collection. While exhibiting at the Pret-a-poter fashion show in Paris – a new idea was developed to create a timeless and very charismatic collection using black – white transparent acetate material. Consequently the collection was launched and has been quickly spreading amongst eyewear boutiques all over the world. The company has increasingly positioned itself as a small but highly creative and innovative frame design house – creating not just quality products, but a whole lifestyle concept and feeling.

Choose the Best Sunglasses or Eyeglasses for Your Face

Friday, July 6th, 2007

It’s summer season again. That means time to shop for sunglasses. Of course, wearing sunglasses year round is a good idea for eye protection. And these tips obviously also work for choosing the best eyeglasses for your facial features.

The person born with an oval face is truly blessed. To distinguish between an oval or a long face, an oval face is about one and a half times its width. If your face is longer than this, you have a long face. An oval face can wear any type of sunglasses or eyeglasses and look good wearing them. Square frames look especially good on an oval face.

If you have a long face, you want to attempt to make your face look wider with the sunglasses that you wear. Choose sunglasses that have large frames vertically. Oversized sunglasses with deep frames that cover most of the center of the face will help visually shorten the face. Don’t wear small sunglasses or square, narrow sunglasses if you have a long face. Try to find sunglasses with frames that have some sort of contrast at the temples, either with a color or pattern. Round and oval shaped sunglasses all look good on long faces.

People with round faces want sunglasses that make their faces appear thinner. Try to find sunglasses with frames that are a bit wider than the widest part of your face. Sunglasses with frames that feature a higher than average temple also help elongate the face. Don’t wear round shaped sunglasses or sunglasses with deep frames that cover most of the center of the face. Choose sunglasses with straight and angular frames. Rectangular shaped sunglasses are a good bet for people with round faces. Round faces also look better with sunglass frames that are very dark colored.

A square face has angular features with a wide forehead and a strong, square jawline. The forehead and jaw are almost equal width. A square face can wear the classic sunglasses shaped like cat eyes or ovals. Most round or sunglass frames with curves will suit a square face. Pick sunglass frames that sit high on the cheekbones to minimize the jaw. Square faces should avoid wearing angular sunglass frames like squares or rectangles. A heart-shaped face has a wide forehead and a narrow jawline. Often heart-shaped faces have a widow’s peak at the hairline. Try to keep the focus around the eyes. Round, angular, and sunglasses with no rims are good choices for heart-shaped faces. Avoid sunglasses that are wider at the top than the bottom, as this echos and emphasizes the shape of your face. Aviator style sunglasses should be avoided if you have a heart-shaped face.

If your face has large features such as a prominent or long nose, choose sunglasses with larger than average size frames. Also try to find sunglasses with high temples or with contrast at the temples. Sunglasses with double brow bar will cause a long nose to appear shorter. Aviator sunglasses are a good choice for people with prominent noses or large facial features.

If you have a short nose or a small nose that is out of proportion with the rest of your face, try choosing sunglasses with a high bridge to help lengthen your nose’s appearance.

Keep these sunglasses shopping tips in mind when deciding which pair of sunglasses to buy. You’ll look your best at the beach.

The first consideration when choosing the best sunglasses for your face is to look at the size of your face. Some people’s faces are much larger or smaller than other faces. When choosing the frame size of your sunglasses or eyeglasses, match them to the size of your face. In other words, choose small size frames if you have a small face and larger sunglass frames for a large face.
When choosing a sunglass frame shape, choose a frame that contrasts with the shape of your face. In other words, choose sunglasses that are the opposite of the shape of your face. For example, if you have an angular face, pick sunglasses or eyeglasses that have some curves to soften your facial features.
